It’s been two weeks and the thing I miss the most is COFFEE… REAL AMERICAN COFFEE! Coffee shops are few and far between in Chengdu. The ones I have been able to find don’t offer regular coffee… just latte and cappuccino. I just want a plain black cup of coffee! Late in the trip that someone finally discovered a Starbucks about a mile away. I finally made it there one night but was disappointed to find they didn’t have half and half and that a tall coffee was ¥ 30 (about $ 4.39). Considering most dinners have cost between ¥ 12-18, I felt like I was getting ripped off. Apparently, Starbucks prices are International. Interestingly enough, that seems to be true with most of the other American products I have found here.
