Let's Celebrate!! We finally made it through the three week program at Chengdu University of TCM and had an awesome Peking Duck Dinner to celebrate. We asked a few of our favorite translators to join us and bought Tantan a cake to thank him.
Tonight I need a break from eating dinner with the entire group. I am actually sick of Chinese food and crave something else… anything else. No more spice, at least for tonight. For just a minute I thought I was in San Diego. Outdoor seating, palm trees, heat lamps, and mojitos… a perfect ending to a long day in Chengdu. Surprisingly enough, the place wasn’t real busy for a Thursday night. Still, it was great to just get out and unwind in an atmosphere that felt familiar since many of us were starting to feel a little homesick. Ahh… Karaoke, A favorite Chinese pastime! I've been hearing for years that karaoke is a big deal in China. However, I think it's one of those things you just have to experience to appreciate. Tantan Huang (our instructor and trip coordinator) is famous for his annual performances while visiting Chengdu. So of course we pleaded and begged in order to keep the tradition alive. |
About ChristineI just completed a 4.5 year Chinese medical program at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, CA. I am very excited to have this opportunity to study Chinese Medicine where it originated. I will be traveling to Chengdu, Beijing, and Shanghai. |
